From The Pastor………

I’m looking forward to the Palm Passion Cantata on Palm Sunday, an opportunity to experience something of what Christ went through on His way to the cross.  The music, the words, the Scriptures, the emotional impact of sharing in both the joys and sorrows of Christ’s last few days, will be an inspiring service befitting of Palm Sunday.

A number of years ago John W. Peterson wrote a cantata entitled “No Greater Love.”  The words of one of the songs are particularly moving to me.

“I chose a path of sin and loss, apart from God above.
Until by faith I saw the cross
And Jesus’ look of love.
I viewed His body on the tree,
And searched the thorn-crowned brow.
It seemed He spoke from Calvary,
“For thee I’m dying now.”
I could not spurn His love divine
And careless turn away.
He saved this guilty soul of mine;
Now I am His today.

Chorus:

His wonderful look of love, His wonderful look of love.
Made the teardrops start, broke and won my heart.
His wonderful look of love.”

These are appropriate thoughts for us during the Lenten Season. They speak of the cross, and Jesus’ death.  They remind us that He died for us – on our behalf.  And they also remind us that because of the resurrection – because of the triumph of life over death – we too are made alive in Christ Jesus.  There can be “no greater love” than that.  During this special season, let us as Christians affirm that “I am His today.”

Thank you for all your comments and compliments regarding our son Jonathan’s documentary film.  Your words were both gratifying and supportive.  Hopefully this “labor of love” will be beneficial to many people.

A couple of weekends ago we spent some time with my favorite granddaughter (and her parents).  She is approaching 6 months old and is doing some “adorable” things.  I just might share them with you if you ask me.
