Kathy was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, attended school in Prince George's County, Maryland and graduated from Montgomery College. She has worked in public health clinics, a law office, a construction business, and a retail tropical plant business. Kathy's only son, Greg, lives in Austin, Texas.

She has been a Winchester resident since 1991 and loves living in the country with her little dog, Tessa, and her cat, Sophie. Her interests include gardening, reading, and household projects. She terms herself a "homebody who loves animals." Kathy has been the church secretary at First Baptists since the spring of 2000 and loves her work, but most of all she loves the people.
