Kristin Adkins Whitesides
Associate Pastor and Minister to Youth
Kristin Adkins Whitesides is a native of Martinsville, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Richmond with a bachelor of arts in religion and English and from Duke Divinity School with a master of divinity degree. She also completed a unit of clinical pastoral education at Duke Medical Center. She was ordained at Starling Avenue Baptist Church on June 19, 2005. Before coming to First Baptist Church, Kristin worked as a pastoral intern at Baptist churches in North Carolina and Virginia as well as a Methodist church in North Carolina.
As Associate Pastor and Minister to Youth, Kristin is involved in the life of the church through worship leadership, congregational care, and pastoral ministry. Working with the youth of our church, Kristin focuses on those in grades six through twelve. The youth ministry is designed to provide Bible study, worship experiences, and ministry opportunities. The youth also participate in special events and trips to develop and nurture their friendships and their faith.
Kristin and her husband, Sandy, were married in 2003 and have a son named Isaac who was born in 2007.
